Your present circumstances don't determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.

My Practice

Welcome and thank you for taking the first step toward addressing whatever life challenges you or someone you love are experiencing at this time.

Perhaps you're down, anxious, feeling ‘stuck’ or as though you aren’t living the life you envisioned for yourself. Whatever your needs may be, I’m here to help you get on-track.

I have 19 years of experience working with mental health and life challenges including

*depression   *anxiety   *mood disorders   *substance abuse   *ADHD   *body image   *relationship challenges   *stress   *self-worth   *identity   *grief   *transition   *trauma.

I’ve worked in a variety of clinical settings, including wilderness therapy, residential treatment and private practice.

The decision to begin therapy takes great courage. It can feel scary, even if you’ve been in therapy before. I have deep respect for your courage to seek help.

The relationship I build with my clients is foundational.  We need to build a trusting rapport to work together toward effective change.  I am inherently curious, validating and compassionate and appreciate humor as a powerful means of connecting with others.

I graduated with a BS in Psychology from Florida State University in 1999 and with a MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Montana State University in 2004.  In the years since completing my MS,

I have received training in

*Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)   *Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)  *Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)   *Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)  *Motivational Interviewing (MI)

I am not bound to a single approach as I believe each individual must be met where they are. The relationship is essential for doing any substantive therapeutic work, and I treat that as a priority.

Even behaviors that may appear ineffective from the outside looking in usually have wisdom at their core. When a person is in pain, they generally want to feel better.  It is imperative to understand what it is that one may need to feel better in reaction to, then identify alternative actions for meeting those needs in ways that don’t have the negative repercussions.

By definition, individuals are dynamic, unique and vulnerable.  It is important to me to get to know YOU. I will be intentionally curious and work to understand the experiences, challenges and strengths that have shaped you as a person.

Whatever your needs may be, I am here to listen and help.

Get to Know Me as a Person

I absolutely love my work as a mental health specialist.  I genuinely care for my clients and prioritize getting to know each person as an individual.

I make sure to model good self-care and boundaries in my work with my clients. Taking good care of myself is essential for sustaining my own energy and mental well-being.

In my free time, I love to be outside and am passionate about exploring and adventuring.  I enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking and hiking in the mountains.  I love to cook and read and spend time with others.
